I use phatpad, phatnotes and calligrapher extensively throughout the day. While I don't need too many bells and whistles I will definitely upgrade to the latest and greatest of both (I don't know what phatnotes is for anymore) phatpad and calligrapher just for the shape corrector. Got an idea or just to jot down a note this combo can't be beat. I used to take notes a few years ago using one of the music/voice recorders. I would bounce around with the various recorder companies as they each added features. But when Phatpad and calligrapher combo came out I was hooked. Never used a recorder to again to take notes. Phatpad has been on my start menu since I started using it. These 2 are at the top of the list of apps/utilities I can't live without.

Thanks, Jeff. So, do you map PhatPad to a button for easy use? Also, I realized in his review that I didn't have the latest dot-release of Calligrapher so I downloaded that. :)

I tried that for a while but I found that the start menu was easier. Also PI works perfect for me using buttons. I have been using Wisbar for some years now and since they changed owners and created the Wizbar Advance Desktop I have a phatpad icon on the desktop. Just give the icon a jab and phatpad opens up instantly. I still don't know why I even use the start menu - habit I guess. I have the 6 or so apps that I use constantly throughout the day on the desktop. For me it's an awesome combination of utilities and apps. Wisbar Desktop, phatpad etc. It's like having a bunch of buttons without any clutter.

I haven't checked out Wisbar since it went commercial so I haven't seen WA Desktop. Pretty cool!

Way cool! It's worth the try. Wisbar was always a nice utility but nothing great. Since it went commercial it became a very nice utility and really great. For me it's one tap on an icon to start something up. I also have SPB Diary loaded on the desktop so I think I got a pretty complete setup for my needs. I'm never more than a tap away from what I need.

The main thing here is that Phatpad is on the desktop and I just tap it to start it up. I have to be using phatpad to make between 30-50 notes a day and Wisbar desktop is a mind saver.
