Take your TV programs on-the-go. All the shows that your record with your Windows Media Center are automatically converted in the background and transferred to your mobile phone, iPod, Pocket PC, Palm. Simply record TV-shows for your portable device by selecting a tv-show in the EPG (on-screen program guide)."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/hisham-20061221-mobile_TV_Center.jpg" /><br /><br />This is for those of us without TiVO or a Slingbox - Makayama's Mobile TV Center records and syncs those shows you missed or want to watch again on your device. It does require Windows Media Center, and the syncing occurs through a memory card. While this strikes me as a little clumsy, it does mean faster data transfers than if you go through Activesync plus you avoid some of Activesync's idiosyncracies when dealing with large files. You can give it a trial or purchase it for $34.95 through our <a href="http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&jid=8CF7BXX99A7B494E57836A3D1596FB6E&platformId=2&productType=2&productId=201476&">affiliate store</a>.

Perhaps I am missing something. What are the other, perhaps more manual methods of making shows recorded on windows MCE small enough to put on your PPC? I have MCE and a Samsung i830, and wasn't aware of any easy method to compress the ginormously large MCE files.

I would like to know a way to convert these files to a smaller format as well (divx would be great). Just something with a nice interface like pocketdivxencoder where I can set minimal options and it turns out great.

Makayama has NO support. I've purchased two versions of DVD to PocketPC and have requested technical support on each. Never a response. I sent an e-mail every day for 20 days and never a response. I've been looking for a forum to vent on this.

A black hole ain't got nothin' on Makayama. Major, professional suckage. Their software has more bugs than week-old roadkill, and there's a better chance of Lindsey Lohan staying sober for a month than getting any customer support from Ca-ca-yama.

And my name is Not Mitch. =P
