Oz will offer a technology that lets cellphone companies and handset makers load a connection to social networking sites onto phones in a bid to capitalize on the growth of community Web sites like News Corp.'s MySpace and Google Inc.'s YouTube. The company already provides technology that lets people access e-mail and instant messaging services from MSN, AOL and Yahoo over their mobile phones, with such customers as Cingular Wireless, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA."

Many of us are no stranger to some of Oz's existing offerings (i.e. the instant messaging app on some of our devices), and now it appears that the company is trying to capitalize on the MySpace-esque genre of social networking. I find no real joy in spending my precious hours updating my MySpace page ... but I guess some people really love that sort of thing. And where people flock, money is to be made!
