Act Sync settings won't stick

I have active sync 4.2 and want to permantley turn off the time snyc of my pda and my pc. I go to tools, options and uncheck the sync time with pc box. It says it is saving the settings and then when I reboot it is back to the same setting. Is there any trick to this? The reason I want to do this is because our servers are 5 minutes out of sync with the real time. IT won't make the adjustment.

I don't know if this will help or not, but when I find settings not sticking in an app, I usually do a full power down (as opposed to a reset). I've set it up so a press and hold on the power button does a "power off" (i.e. not just suspend), and I use that. Supposedly the full powering down of the device ensures that changes are committed to the registry. At least that's what I've heard.
