Does anyone have a source of topographic maps (no streets) and/or coastal waters charts for Canada for handheld GPS?

Thanks.

I remember browsing around the forums over at firstloox.org and coming across discussions about GPS Map software like you describe.

Looking back now, Fugawi (http://www.fugawi.com/web/products/fugawi_canada_maps.htm) was one of the products that sounds like it might fit your needs.

I would head over to FirstLoox (http://www.firstloox.org/) and search around for walking maps. I am sure there are more discussions on the subject.

Also, you might want to look at G p s P a s S i o n (http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/default.asp?_SetCurrentVersion=EN).

Can you report back you experiences? I would be interested in your choice of maps and how well they work for you.

It won't help Don much but since you are in CA, Mark, you might look at Street Atlas Handheld, by DeLorme. No it's not a topo package, but it does allow importing maps from DeLorme's TopoUSA products.

Then there is National Geographic's Pocket Topo http://maps.nationalgeographic.com/topo/pocket.cfm

Thanks, Sven... unfortunately, all the NG stuff is for the US only.

Mark... I've contacted Fugawi. They apparently have PDA software and maps available, so I'm going to see if they will work on my Pharos 525 Traveller (aka HTC Galaxy).

I'll let you know what they say.

I thought we convinced you to get the n560!

Oh well, there goes the finders fee :D
