Sorry, couldn't resist. ;) The quote above says it all - but if you're <i>really</i> interested go on and have a look. :devilboy: The (blurry) PDAL photos are <a href="http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2006/11/28/i-mate-pdal-live-shots/">here</a>, and JAQ3's are <a href="http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2006/11/24/i-mate-jaq-3-live-shots/">here</a>.

I thought this was a Smart Phone but it's a WinMo. That's the best form-factor for a WinMo phone. A Treo 750 competitor. I don't understand what the fuss is about. I only hope the hardware specs are strong on this one.

Standard set of specs. No surprises.

TI OMAP 850 200MHz CPU, 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 1.2, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, microSD, 2.0-megapixel camera, 2.4" QVGA TFT-LCD, Windows Mobile 5.0.

I don't understand what the fuss is about.

The fuss is that the original JAQ design (not this one) was spectacularly ugly, and i-Mate's defense of it was almost as bad ("we made it ugly because our corporate customers wanted it that way"). These devices are pretty staid by comparison, but really don't stand out from the crowd at all.

I really like the form of this device. Having a fixed front keyboard and not having to deal with the square screen is great for me. But as stated the specs are just ok.. i don't think i could justify this as an upgrade. It looks very cool though. :)

It lloks like a group of 10 or 20 engineers from HTC monopolized design of Pocket PC phones and Smartphones and they follow same template for ages now.
I think I will go for Nokia N95 althouh it is probably less stable and I am afraid of sync problems with Outlook

The PDAL looks plain crap, and the JAQ3 has no 3G.

I am very happy with my new Treo 750v which looks good, and has UMTS :D Yes it has a square screen, but I haven't found it a problem yet.
