Hey everyone, I have Vista RC1 and I tried to install the windows mobile device center. I run the installer, and it shows a progress bar that says "gathering required information" and the window disappears.

Has this happened to anyone else? How do I fix it?

My memory may be faulty, but I seem to remember that WMDC doesn't work in RC1.

The latest WMDC Beta 3 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C23C8E6A-A72D-4AEF-9663-31CE2FEFBADA&displaylang=en) is compatible with Windows Vista RC1.

Verdagon, I've never experienced the issue of disappearing windows. Do you have access to a more recent build or the RTM version? RC1 is riddled with bugs, so that could be the cause of your issue.
