Gabe's expression in the last box is simply priceless. Enjoy! 8)

Hah! Nice. The funny thing of course is that there's always a few people on every flight that forget to turn off their phones, WiFi on their laptops, etc...and if it really caused problems, there'd be numerous crashes resulting from that.

Yup. The "killer rays" give away the fact that it's a parody or a mockery of the rather arbitrary FCC rules...

why is it funny?

Because a wireless device would not kill the captain of an airplane.

It's funny now. :D (I thought the captain has pacemaker installed.)

Actually, it's a radio-interference issue during take off or landing that seems to be the focus of concern. I know of no airlines that have a problem operating electronic equipment while at 'cruising altitude'.

Still, I can't imagine airliners using anything close to the 2.4Mhz frequency -- that'd be like operating a microwave oven while using a cordless phone. Wasn't aware GBSP emitted radio signals... have to send my kid's in for an upgrade I guess...

cheers

Yes, Penny Arcade's humour can be a little vague at times, but once you get it, it's a good laugh. :)

Well, assuming you've been on a plane the past 20 years, you'd get it right away...

Right. Though, I was talking about PA's comics in general, not just this one. This one's definitely one of the more obvious strips. ;)
