That's right! No more tangled up phone cord. Now people will think you're really crazy talking into a old-time handset connected to... nothing. Oh, and speaking of nothing, there's nothing out there quite like this handset because this product is a ThinkGeek original design..."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/parekh-20061020-BTRetro.jpg" /><br /><br />You know... this is actually pretty darn cool. And it's not expensive. Hmm, tempting. ;) Have a good weekend!

That's really cool! I'd love to try one of these out just for kicks. I actually still have a rotary phone in my house I still use to answer calls. I can no longer dial with it though as I switched to touch tone a few months ago.

These were the best handsets ever. Remember the shoulder rest you could clamp on. With one of those I could have a smoke and pen in one hand, a coffee in the other and crank out some serious business through the day. The real bonus with them was that when you got really made at someone on the phone, you could throw it against the wall, pick it up and still yell at them.......Man. those were the days, eh! :D

This could make Skype feel positively old fashioned :P

The best use of Bluetooth I've seen in ages.

I was wondering why a manufacturer hadn't come out with a cell-phone that was the size of a regular phone, cause some people like the larger size phones. This is an even better implementation since it can be used with any cell phone.

I just got one of these. Paired fine with my Cingular 3125 and the sound quality is good. I don't know about the battery life yet, but I'm going to have a lot of fun with it. It comes with a usb/mini-usb cable for charging. I live in NJ and got it the day after I ordered it. No volume control or other fancy features, but very comfortable to use in a long conversation.

I think I fell into a Time Warp...and it is April 1st.

What's next, the shoe phone?

What's next, the shoe phone?
Sure thing! I can hear the theme song used for the commercial now:

"Don't you step on my blue(tooth) suede shoes...!"

This is definitely cool! Maybe I like it so much because it epitomizes the whole "W?BIC!" lifestyle I try so hard to demonstrate! This is definitely going on my Christmas Wish List -- I can see myself using it with my notebook Skype setup already.

Now, where can I find a phone with a real rotary dial?

Oh yea... just placed my order. This is going on my desk at work on top of an old rotary style phone I have lying around in the equipment closet. Should really freak out my students &amp; my advisor! Awesome.

Not too original...
I seem to remember this guy who was worried that his Universal might draw criminal attention so he glued his BT headset into an old Nokia 6690 phone circa 1999.

At our pocket pc meeting at the time, we'd discussed similar hacks and thought the ultimate cool would be...a BT head set disguised as a toy phone.

All those micro headset people look crazy anyway... :devilboy:

Does anybody know if such a thing exists for DECT phones ?

The main thing about these things, versus current phones.. well, the size makes them a LOT easier to handle with a shoulder, which is better (for me) than using a headset if I'm not walking around a lot.

Still, it's a big of a gag gift, but hey.

It's actually about a year ago I saw the first of those, it eaven comes as a 1920's phonetype, like the ones you allways see in gangster movies, with a stand having the mic placed on the top, and the earpice hanging on the side, I think they called it the Bogart model 8)

Here's a link to some other models

When you stop going forward, you go backward. The other day at Steiberg's I saw what appeared to be an old dial phone but when you picked up the handset it turned out to be cordless with all the controls in the handset.
