It was a few days ago that I’ve reviewed (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1189&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1) the brand new series of the great book / reference reader/browser TomeRaider and reported it being buggy.

Now, fortunately, this is no longer the case as can be seen for example in the following screenshot (I’ve searched hard to find any text with rendering errors – in vain):

All in all, NOW you may want to consider upgrading to the new version (as opposed to the original, 3.2.00 one) from the 3.1.xx series.

Unfortunately, the copy bug under WM5 still hasn’t been fixed.

(Thanks to AximSite forum member cjw for the heads-up (http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?p=1192971)! Incidentally, he has also noticed you can step over the history over hardware buttons – see the linked thread.)

That's one of the most awful software that could be worst in every possible way.

People have to pay to convert old files into tr3. The failure to support tr2 file is out of anyone expectation. People even can't get much help from the poor design website.

It seems that the biggest problem is its support for files in SD cards. I've put the TR3 file into the SD card of my Dopod PPC Phone, but it keeps showing an annoying message "the file is either old or write protected". This error message is wrong, because i can't even open the TR3 Help document provided by Tomeraider.

But yesterday i found that it could be solved, if I put the file into the main memory of my PDA, the unopenable tr3 files can finally be opened, but it's just infeasible for anyone to put 500MB database into the main memory.

To google strings like "tomeraider 3 ppc old write protected", I think i'm not alone with this problem.

Hot off the presses...

Tomeraider v.3.2.03 for the PPC is up on their website. I wish I could say what has been fixed in this new version, but alas, I've bailed and gone back to v.3.1.xx. Tomeraider's newest look just isn't my cup of tea.

And I see the price has gone up recently from $20-25 to $38. Yikes. 8O

Thanks for the heads-up! I'll check it out too.
