Hello

I would like to know, what happens to iPAQ models (like h1930, h1935) which dont have file store folder after battery runs out of power - do i have to reinstall all programs (included those which run from SD card?)

Is there a way to solve this lack of flash hardwre with software: is there a program that would automatically install lost programs form SD memory card, or even some program like GHOST that woulkd copy a RAM IMAGE form SD card and that way restore lost programs?

thanks

Would not using SPB Backup work?? It makes the backup file into an executible which can be run from the storage card (least I hope so, that is how I am using it now), lol.

Yes, Spb Backup will do the job. Sprite Backup works to which is what I use all the time. Also, check to see if there is built in backup software.

You can find SPB Backup here (http://www.mobihand.com/pocketpcthoughts/product.asp?id=4898). The alternatives are Sprite Backup (http://www.mobihand.com/pocketpcthoughts/product.asp?id=5546) and Sunnysoft Backup (http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productType=2&productId=26759), but if you're thinking at all of upgrading your PDA, SPB would probably be your best bet. The other two are a bit buggy with WM5.

Sprite Backup v5.1 works flawlessly with WM5. The issue wasn't the OS but the encryption software by Credant Protect Tools which has been fixed. I can not say what's up with Sunnysoft as I have never used it.

Only Sprite of them 3 has a feature of restore after upgrade mode, worked a charm on my 4700

But it is not possible to use it to migrate from WM2003SE to WM5 due to registry structure differences.

Yep, but the other thing is all the software will change as well is I change the OS to WM5, I need to install them anyway. But after some Rom or Firmware upgrade it will be handy if you have a backup image.
