Hi.

My iPAQ2210 has recently stopped responding to the touch-screen. Well, it will activate the back-light, but the software won't respond. Thus, the device is now somewhat useless.

I would like to open it up and check for "obvious" problems like dry joints, etc. Does anybody know where (in the UK) I can get a suitable tool for the star-like screws (not the two at the bottom rear, that I can do with an hex-key) ?

Thanks in advance.
Martyp.

Not sure where you can get those in England, but I was able to find a very tiny Torx driver (size T5 or T6) at my local US Sears store.

Remember, though, cracking open your device can be a "one-way trip to somewhere you don't want to go."

Brad is indeed correct, a T6 torx allen key would do, I used one recently when attaching my new side grips from PPCTechs (it was included in the packet) and I couldn't resist a peek inside.

Maplin do a good range of torx bits,

Just do a search for torx on their site.

Thanks all. Maplin here I come. I may as well "crack it open" as it's no good at the moment! I've got nothing to lose...
