If so, share your stories. The image above shows a not-really-a-wireless-adapter wireless adapter. Too cruel! 8O

Yeah. One day I purchased a device that was supposed to let me do a number of things at once, would hold a lot of data, look cool, maybe would do music or video, allow me to stay connected no matter where I was. Turns out it was hopelessly inadequate to the task.

Hahaha... Ed; the king of Palm- and Bluetooth bashing.... :rotfl:

But even some WM-devices might qualify for this topic ;)

You should contact the developer. I know others have it and it works fine. However, where did I recommend it? This post (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,50430) was simply a pointer to something that might interest people. The vast majority of posts on this site are not reviews at all. In many cases, we've never installed the product being linked to, but we know those in our readership may be interested in the software. There are thousands and thousands of titles out there. No way can we install and test everything.

The only time we recommend is when we either do a review and we give a full blown analysis of the application, or when we personally use the application in question and have first hand expeirence. We have no desire to, nor do we claim to.

Please don't confuse a "Hey, here is a piece of software that may interest some of you" announcement post with a recommendation.

And I had nothing to do with that skin, but I know a loooooooooot of skinning noobs get kind of cranky when there's no installation file. My advice would be to download some other WMP skins and see if you can't get those working either. In there would lie your answer as to whether it's the developer. :)

Nine times out of ten, problems with skins are due to errors in installation by the user. Post the details of your problem in this thread (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,50430) and I may be able to help you get it working.

To bring us back on topic - - note the lowly post hole digger. Example at http://tinyurl.com/zsd44

These do not dig holes, even when I try to help. They are an excellent means of exhausting oneself.

Ditto. I bought a pocketpc - it ain't anywhere near a pc, it leaks memory like a sieve with nothing running, has a word processor that is a glorified text editor, has a spreadsheet app that doesn't do graphing (wtf????) and is supposed to multi-task...'cept it doesn't.. At least it reboots on a regular basis which, is kinda handy as it saves me the effort needed to recover the memory it leaks

Maybe I'm behind the times, but I never assumed that a spreadsheet application was assumed to include graphing capabilities. I suppose this is especially salient in my line of work where some won't even consider the idea of using graphs generated from a product like Excel, judging them juvenille in comparison to graphs made with a dedicated graphing product.

Yup. That's what I remember from growing up on a farm . . . and spending too much time in academia . . .

I have learned that PHD's and PhD's all have two handles, usually cost more than they're worth, usually rub you wrong if you're not careful, require careful managment to do any useful work, and sometimes, rarely, are the only tool for the job . . .

Speaking of getting jipped, I don't think I'll bring up my education . . .

Well, at least Excel Mobile supports charts and graphs now. As for the glorified text editor, that can only be solved by third-party applications. ;)

My Psion Series 3a could do that 13 years ago - and still has superior applications now and could do more with less hardware. Some progress, eh?

Here's a "high-tech" example from Make Magazine (http://www.makezine.com/blog/archive/2006/08/tales_from_the_99_store.html?CMP=OTC-0D6B48984890):

It looks like one of those expensive shake dynamo flashlights, but it's really powered by a couple of hidden coin cells!

Even though this is a fake, the sum of its parts are still worth 99 cents! 8)

First of all, as far as the post-hole digger is concerned... I've dug hundreds of fence post holes with that PHD and I can tell you that it not only works very well when you use it correctly, but it's also just about the only tool you can use to make a hole that's 10" in diameter and 2 feet deep. Go ahead and just try it with a digging bar and trench shovel.

And now for the topic at hand: I have a friend who rescues dying bonsai trees from people. Once he got one that had that fused rock surface on top (instead of soil). He broke it open to look at the root system and lo and behold there was no root system. Someone had cut a branch from a tree and stuck it in a bonsai base and probably sold it for $50 (it was a rather large 'bonsai'). Naturally, no matter how much they cared for it it's just not going to continue living... 8O

:boohoo:

Well, here's the thing, Dan. Education is the only purchase I can think of where, if you got jipped, then you jipped yourself. What you get out of it is in direct proportion to what you put into it. :bangin:
