Can someone recommend a wireless card with driver for an iPAQ (model 3955). I have the PCMCIA expansion sleeve but have not had any success identifying the right wireless card for it.
Pls reply to [email protected]

JimI'd recommend the now hard to find Sandisk 128Mb connect plus Wifi card. This was discontinued so... you may be out of luck in support.

Other than that just about any CF Wifi card that has available PPC 2002 drivers would work. Avoid PCMCIA cards that say 32bit cardbus or do not have ppc 2002 drivers.

I have the similar problem. I am new to the PDA world and own an iPAQ 3955 and need to upgrade to wifi. There are numerous posts about the sandisk being incompatible with it. True? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of any specific incompatibility...I've had one that works quite well on the 3870 and the 3650

Thanks for the info and I see the link for the Sandisk SD card. Are there advantages for using a SD card like the sandisk rather than any of the CF drives?

SD vs. CF is a matter of preference. An SD WiFi card would do just as well. The real difficult part is find a 2002 compatible one. SDIO standards were more fully supported in 2003. My recommendation was simply for a model that I've had personally.

Does anyone know of any SD wifi cards that work with an iPAQ 3955? I am running windows CE 3.0.

I still have the pc card wifi from when I had my 3955 with pc card sleeve. Linksys Wireless B Pc Card. You want it? I even have the driver for it. My brother has 3955 and whenever he comes over I let him use ot with his 3955.

PowerCX, that would be great! I was getting frustrated because all of the brick and mortar stores only have cards that support windows 4.X or higher. Are you sure that you don't use/need it?

JoeT, sent you a PM.

I also have the SD WiFi card that I'm not using that I used to use with my 3955 and my O2 XDA II. I bought the very first one from SanDisk, one without the 256MB Flash built-in. The problem is, I have to find it since it's so darn tiny. I found the CD Driver, but no card yet. If I do find it, I'll come back here to see if you guys still want it.

It's great to see this kind of support! FWIW, even if you can't find the installation CD, I've found that most manufacturers keep their drivers available online.

Glad to help. I'm a long time reader, and I had a different username before but forgot the username for it, I had a lot of post since 2000, but stop posting for 2 years since I got an O2 XDA II PDA Phone and been lurking around on the O2 Developer Forum and forgotten my login username for PPCThoughts.

You're glad to see this kind of support? I'm new to Pocket PC's and all I wanted was some info and the next thing I know, I'm being offered a SOLUTION to my problem. The last thing that I ever expected was this kind of help. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I hope to be able to repay the favor. I'm still in disbelief.
