Not only did attendees receive a free SPV C600 Smartphone, they also had the opportunity to see and play with Orange's upcoming Pocket PCs (the SPV M3100) and Smartphones (SPV C100, SPV C700, SPV F600, and BlackJack). For more on the SPV M3100, better known as the HTC Hermes, head over to MoDaCo. For more on the Smartphones, head over to our sister site, Smartphone Thoughts.

Kudos to Orange for caring about enthusiast sites and their communities. :way to go:

I have this device (HTC Hermes) already. It is sold as XDA Trion by O2 in Germany (http://shop2.o2online.de/o2/interessenten/necos/details/index.html?articleId=4510%20070023%2000&contractId=O-GEN-H-NEW&duration=24&salesChannel=SHOP&categoryId=1120). I have looked into the network settings and it supports also UMTS at 850 and 1900 MHz. So it should work on the UMTS network of Cingular in the US too.

If I use the SPV M3100 on T-Mobile here in USA, Do you guys thinkI'll get good reception? I live in Chicago.

Also, Do I have to imprt it to where I live?

I am deciding between this phone and the Nokia N80. I never used a Windows Mobile 5.0 phone before but this one really seems interesting to me. I've been using Symbian S60 always.
