It's providing many more features then the current camera applications can do, including using your Windows Mobile device as a webcam for your PC messenger services."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/salgado-20060707-atekcc.gif" /><br /><br />I don't know if it's due to the "Common Camera API" that's bundled in the Windows Mobile 5 SDK, but I'm just glad that more developers are starting to use the additional features of our devices to get more functionality and fun out of them. Now, if someone could start making camera-enabled games, face recognition security and videoconferencing applications, I'd be a happy camper. In the meantime, this is a great start, don't you think? ;) For only $14.95, it's a full-featured replacement to your standard Camera application on your Pocket PC, and don't forget about it being a webcam for your desktop PC, too!

I played with this a bit on my SDA. Didn't find the picture quality to be any better, but there was way more control over picture quality.

One thing, I couldn't swing the contrast to an acceptable level. Everything looked blue-shifted. Could do nothing to move it back.

Worked on my 8125 and 2125. Very interesting tool.

is anyone seriously considering using this full time as their webcam?

I'm thinking about using this as a full time webcam when I travel and need to video call.

By the way Sparky, I don't believe it improves the picture quality at all. I blogged the proof with hybrid photos and side by side comparison here:
