This service pack was driven customer feedback including improvements in stability, adds new debugging features, extended platform support, and new developer functionality."</i><br /><br />Some interesting updates in this service pack, but unfortunately the CF still remains ungoldly huge. A whole long list of bug fixes, storage of the global assembly cache on a storage card, and more are in this update. To be fair, the chances that they'd be able to add additional features (which they did) and make it smaller were never exactly great.
I actually think it's a pretty good size for what it does.

I'd rather see improvements in terms of speed instead of size...

Honestly, better one 5 MB framework and then twenty 50 kB apps than twenty 2 MB apps... ;)

"storage of the global assembly cache on a storage card"

Anyone know how to do this? There is no option during install to tell it where to store the cache. Does it do it automatically?

Just choose to install it to your storage card. It will install 1.7mb into main memory and the rest of the 5.4 will be installed to your storage card.....You would be surprised how often this happens when you choose to install an application to a storage card. More often than not at least a few small files are installed to main memory, usually because of the need for faster access.

This is a very big improvement from the original 2.0 version which install ALL 5.4mb into main memory.
