Just in case anyone has not seen this.... this is just crazy. I am wondering if this happened to other oil change place like Speed Oil change. Maybe I should install a camera or "mark" my oil filter.

I guess it's time to start marking all my car parts!

I'm never going to Jiffy Lube again!

It would be interesting to see how this affects them as a company. I think everyone should pass the word.

8O All I can say is wow. Who hasn't suspected that they were getting bilked by an auto mechanic at some point? I've had bad experiences at Jiffy Lube before. Once they stripped my oil pan plug and I didn't find out about it until my next oil change.

I only go to places like Jiffy Lube for the convenience of not having to leave the car at a garage for a whole day. You know how they come and talk to you and ask you about 20 different things you can opt to have done- I always answer no to every one and I tell my wife to do the same. When I walk out of there I'm paying only the $29.99 or whatever for the oil change. I can go somewhere and buy my own air filter or wiper blades or whatever.

For anything other than an oil change I go to my trusted neighborhood mechanic. In fact, I think that after seeing those videos I'm going to start using him for oil changes also.

Same here, I just go to those places for the convenience of changing the oil. But I am now wondering if they're really changing the oil filter. I change oil at my local Speed Oil Change, but wondering if they're doing the same.
