h2215: Whats dead?

Well, obviously something is dead. But what? I have not touched this in over 2 years since I got my iBook, and I just today pulled it out of my closet. I can't get past the alignment screen since I cannot see the right side of the screen.

The digitizer is working, so my thought is it's LCD.

Any better opinion?

Tried a hard reset after you got the battery charged back up?

I think it may be something more significant, because it only powers up when the AC is plugged in.

methinks it is time to put this one to rest.

That is likely due to the battery wearing out over time -- a deeply discharged Li-Ion or Li-Poly battery sustains permanent damage and usually has to be replaced. I'd guess both your LCD and battery are suspect, and as such... yeah, it's probably not worth an investment. :(

The LCD is broken, in addition to your dead battery.

Li-Ion batteries should NEVER be left in PDA's that you don't recharge for more than 1-2 months; otherwise, they'll inevitably die.
