Does anyone know what the best free alternative to MS Outlook out there? That can save the email to the computer?

Mozilla Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/) is a good alternative. You can't use it to sync to your Pocket PC via ActiveSync, though there are some third-party solutions available.
