View Full Version : Not Connecting to My Computer- can someone HELP??

I Have an iPAQ rx1950 and i really doesnt connect to my computer to much, i have to restart both pocket pc & my computer about 3 times for it to work, and then when it does i can't add programs because the add/remove program just freezes.. goes to not responding, i think this could be due to the fact that it has like 7 programs to install at one, is there any way i can stop that? i have tried reinstalling active sync 3 times, it doesnt help.

Please help me ASAP.. :(

Do you have a software firewall installed on your computer?

I Have Trend Micro 2006, and just windows firewall, but i have tried turning them both off aswell.. :|

A few things I'd like you to try (if possible):

(1) Uninstall your current version of ActiveSync and install the new v4.2 beta: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync42.mspx

(2) Check the ROM version of your device. If it's not v1.01, download it from here (http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/23197.html) and update your device with it.

(3) After that, update your device with this unrelated file (http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/23210.html) (just for good measure), then update your device with this ActiveSync Mode Switch (http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/23359.html) file. The latter is an important one, as it can help you sync if you're having problems with your current configuration.
