Hey everyone! I was a member here a very long time ago, but had to re-register because I forgot my login info.

I currently have an SX56, unlocked. I love the phone, however, I dropped it on concrete. It landed on its side, so the screen did not shatter. The screen is not broken or even scratched in any way, shape or form, HOWEVER, I think something is loose inside because there are scanlines covering half of the screen. When I squeeze the phone, tap on it a bit, etc. I can get the scanlines to move around and ultimately dissappear, and the screen is fine. However once the phone is touched again, they come back. This is what is leading me to believe the screen is fine, but there might be a wire or something loose inside that can be soldered back in place. The touch screen functions normally too, you can press the screen anywhere and it will register the touch.

I would open the phone up myself, but a. I have no idea how to do it, b. I don't know what to look for to solder back on, and c. I don't want to ruin it anymore than it is already. I also don't want to have to go and buy another one, money is kind of tight. However, if this thing can be repaired, I WILL pay someone to do it as long as the price is a fair one. I've already tried the Geek Squad place, they told me they can't do it. I also tried cell phone repair places around here, no one knows anything about this type of device.

I've included some pictures to help you see what I'm talking about. IF ANYONE can help me, can fix this for me, or knows someone who can, PLEASE reply. My backup phone, a moto razr, just crapped out on me as well, and I'd like to start using this thing again.

One of the community's favorite places is POCKETPCTECHS.COM

They have "fix it yourself" kits (tools and instructions to open/clean) and a repair depot as well.

Some examples:
http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~unit~Siemens_SX-56-292~area~repairs-Full+Service+Repairs.htm

Give them a call at (888)301-2595 and see if they can help.

From their website it looks like the SX56 is supported.

They are based in the LA area, and do take drop offs if you live close by.

Good luck
