ipaq 1710 - regional currency symbol

I have set the region setting to English (UK), with currency symbol as £ (sterling sign). However, when adding notes in a Contact, the software keyboard only shows the dollar ($). How can I change the software keyboard layout to show the sterling character?

Welcome to Pocket PC Thoughts.

If you look at your on-screen keyboard, you should see a key in the top-left labelled '123'. Tap it, and you'll see a vast array of numbers and symbols. To the bottom left, there is the '$' key. The '£' key can be found three keys to the right of it.
