The current release of Office Communicator Mobile, v1.0.530, supports Pocket PCs and Smartphones running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and Windows Mobile 5.0, though VoIP functionality is only available for Windows Mobile 5.0.

Fantastic!

It's always amazed me that I couldn't log onto to my corporate SIP server (which used Windows Messenger on the desktop) using MSN Messenger on my Wizard. This app solves that problem.

I tested it this afternoon and was able to see all my contacts and IM folks with no problem.

We don't have VOIP, so I was unable to test that.

I've been beta testing this for a while now. Its a very nice addition to your Live Communication Server installtion.

Does it only work to communicate with Office Communicator on desktop computers?

Or--can it be used by itself for VOIP? Through which services?

How about Microsoft Portrait? Can that be used for VOIP?

This is the only one of your questions I can answer. We use Windows Messenger on our desktops - and it works just fine with those.
