I'm tempted to buy the T-Mobile MDA, but I just wish it had integrated GPS. So I would hate to pay for the T-Mobile MDA today, and then 6 months later, see a similar phone with integrated GPS come to market.

My ideal Pocket PC Phone would have..

- Quad-band GSM
- GPRS/EDGE
- Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi
- Integrated Camera
- Integrated GPS
- Internal Antennae (nothing protruding)
- At least 320x240 display (640x480 preferred)

Is anything like that slated to come to market this year?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Yeah, look at the ETEN G500. www.etencorp.com

I had an MDA for about a day. Slow as can be. The ETEN M600 which I also have is much faster (195MHz vs 400MHz) Big difference. I wouldn't buy another PDA as slow as that again. Once my contacts were sync'd over, the phone couldn't get out of its own way!

Pros:
Great hardware and software package (not perfect, but nothing with WM5 on it will be)
Great forum: www.eten-users.net

I was looking at the E-TEN G500, but it didn't have integrated Wifi.

But it seems that Spectec makes a MiniSD Wifi card.

Here's an example of an E-TEN G500 with the MiniSD wifi card.

I'm tempted to go that route, but I might just try to wait until someone releases a Pocket PC Phone that has all my listed features integrated. Hopefully, such a device will come to market soon.

You could also buy a BT GPS receiver. That way you can keep your MDA and get all the extra functionality. They start at under $100 these days.

I don't want to carry an extra device, especially if it needs to recharged separately, needs it's own a/c adapters, etc.

I'd rarely need the GPS function. So carrying an extra BT GPS receiver in my pockets, and constantly recharging it, wouldn't be worth it. But I do need the GPS functionality to be there when I unexpectedly need it (like when I'm lost).

Having a separate miniSD WiFi card isn't as bad, since it doesn't need to be recharged, doesn't need it's own a/c adapters, is flat enough to be carried in my wallet like a credit card, and looks like it's nearly flush with the G500 when inserted into the miniSD slot.
