I released a new exclusive skin suite: The SciFi skin suite

http://www.kolumbus.fi/anders.ruohio/scifisplash.gif

Included are skins for WisbarAdvance2, PocketBreeze, ContactBreeze, iLauncher, Spb Pocket Plus and weather icons for WeatherPanel and PocketWeather.

The suite has two complete looks, SciFi and JCars. It works with W2003, WM2003 SE and WM5 pocket pc devices with VGA and QVGA resolutions (also "square" WM5 phone edition devices with 240x240 resolution such as the Treo) for both phone edition and standard edition versions of the OS.

More information about the suite can be found here:SciFi skin suite (http://www.kolumbus.fi/anders.ruohio/scifi.html)

You can buy the suite from my webpage or Handango (http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=2EE6961D4F7468D775BC5EXB3E3CDX31&platformId=2&productType=2&pc=new%5B4%5D_title&productId=186817).

Juni, as usual, awesome skin! Do you have a screenshot of the QVGA SciFi version with all the PocketPlus, PocketBreeze, and Today theme running, but without the Wisbar top and bottoms? I like PocketPlus and PocketBreeze, but Wisbar Advance just dogs my KJAM down too much. I would like to know how this skin would look with a conventional top and bottom bar before I purchase. Thanks!

I didn't take a shot of that but it has a black gradient (as black as it gets on WM5 - I figured out the secrets of the mysterious "basehue" value). :)

Juni, I bought your skin from Handango, is this as dark as the top and bottom can get without installing wisbar?

The WM5 basehue value which defines the top and bottom gradients is a bit flakey - I set it in the today theme to "164" which is as dark as it gets - but sometimes the OS itself change it to slightly lighter I've noticed.

So, to answer your question: Yes, unless you modify the "basehue" registry key yourself and set it to 164.

I do recommend Wisbar Advance2 though, it adds so much to the look of the device. :)

Thanks for the info Juni, I'll have to investigate that registry key setting.

I have tried Wisbar before and it just kills the performance of my KJAM (WM5 PDA Phone device with a 190mhz processor). I was missing phone calls frequently because it took so long to paint the today screen that the phone buttons couldn't react before the call ended. :(

The basehue registry key is at HKLM\software\Microsoft\color and when you change it the gradients will switch immediately - no softreset is necessary. :)
