traveling from saudi to u.s. for summer/cellphoneplan?

i'll travel to u.s. this summer from saudi, i own an imate sp5m which is quad band, does anyone know if it'll work in u.s.? last time i was in u.s. i got one of those prepaid phones for the summer and paid in advance at radio shack for the hours, is that the best way to go? thanks alot:) :lol:

It'll work fine with either the T-Mobile or Cingular prepaid SIMs, which you can buy in the shops.

The SP5m will work great here, you can buy T-Mobile prepaid SIMs online as well since you can't buy just a SIM in a store. You have to buy the package which consists of a phone and a SIM. On ebay, I've bought a couple of SIMs and they are cheap and arrive quickly.
