If that's XP pro. Terminal Services is "right out of the box"

I have been using this program for a while. Works pretty well except the free version does not allow you to transfer files. You have to email them to yourself.

Tospappy: Why not set a folder as shared/networked. Take items you'd llike & put them into the shared folder. Navigate to them using File Explorer/TCommander/Resco

You need to enable remote desktop - Start->Settings->Control Panel->System->Remote tab->Check the "Allow users..."

Take note of the full computer name displayed there - you'll need it or your desktop's IP to conenct through TSC.

In addition to TS, I also recommend z2 RemotePC ( http://www.z2software.com/ ) - it's just wonderful.

BTW, here's my tutorial (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&title=how_can_i_remote_control_my_desktop_wind&more=1) on setting up TS on the server.

Seconded, it's the only solution that worked really well through a GPRS connection. Though their licensing requirements has me up in arms - you basically have to buy a copy for every device you use it on, even as in my case I had to replace my PDA (dead screen) not 4 months after purchasing from them.
