The HP UK website has finally been updated, making the delay official due to a "delay in manufacturing". Here, check it out:

8O You just can't make this stuff up. UK iPAQ readers, I have no idea if you should take any April 1 post by us on the subject seriously. And as for the rest of us, I'm guessing it should ship earlier in the US, but this is HP we're dealing with. :?

I still stick by my morbid prediction that this update will never be released.

I hope I'm wrong but....

I imagine the April 1 date is just an estimate as April 1 is a Saturday. It may be they don't know for sure so they just put April 1 as a nice round number to list.

Delayed due to manufacturing!

It's downloaded! Most of us won't order the CD! I guess they are manufacturing the bits and their EVA SAN is out of disk space. :bad-words:

PS if they don't deliver it who's up to tolietpapering Clinton's house with me?

Yeah....right...manufacturing...they must mean that they are uploading the patch onto their servers with a 2400 baud modem or something.

April 1st!? This must be HP's way of telling us what they think of the customer. I am one April Fool that will never buy an HP PPC again! I guess they don't care anymore as they claim they are on to more important things like phones! One would think that HP would-be so ashamed mad embarrassed that they would post the update for free to try to regain some goodwill. But I am sure they are too busy trying to figure out what color to paint the iPODs so they can resell them as "innovative' HP products! ROFL!!!!

Actually, HP has dropped the iPod redistribution/rebranding deal, so they don't even have that excuse. ;)

Actually, don't be in such a hurry for WM5. After all my adventures these past months with the Sprint 6700 (a great device IMO) and the piece of crap that is ActiveSync 4, I long for the days of AS 3.8, which was merely mediocre as opposed to the complete uselessness of AS 4.

Couldn't agree more with you, and a lot of power apps (at least that I have used) aren't ready for WM5 yet anyway!

But has anyone noticed the hx4700 being used several times on "24" this year? Man they can do some cool stuff with it on that show :D

Jack had a Visor Prism in the fist season that had satellite mapping and the pics were amazingly clear and scalable!

Looks like dumped Palm and went PPC this season :)

Yea, and just what data technology do they use! And for that matter, what voice plan with those moto's they use!

Two stories down in a cement bunker, under a staircase and he gets full signal! We won't even get to the "Jack I've accessed his cell phone signal, and narrowed him down 112 Main St, the fourth floor, North bedroom, he's under the bed and he's armed!"

Must be a super secret CTU signal. And who'da thunk it - Port 11 through the electrical grid gives you access to a computer's storage system! (last season) :rotfl:

Looks to me that HP wants to pull an April Fools joke with WM5.
