A new ROM file has appeared on Club I-Mate's FTP site . While the actual pages aren't updated yet, it appears that JasJar owners only needed to wait an additional week for their AKU 2 goodness. Unfortunately, from what I've seen, there is no A2DP in this ROM either :( . I'm going to flash tonight, and will let everyone know my results when I'm done!

My understanding is that A2DP will be included in the next ROM update - AKU 2.2.

Flashing went off without too much trouble (The first time I flashed was with a mini-USB cable I had lying around and the device didn't correctly download the new ROM. I put the device into bootloader mode (By pressing the light button, power button, and inserting the stylus at the same time) and re-flashed with the mini-USB cable supplied by i-Mate.). Push Email is on the device, and it appears A2DP is not. I may switch back to the JJ as a daily driver for a few days to test the update out, and will report back anything of interest I find.

Hey Jon,

On the O-fficial release, is the stupid battery indicator on the top bar? It's on the un-O-fficial release, and I really miss the clock.

Yea, looks like the battery indicator is here to stay. Many are saying it is AKU 2's default, not any one carrier's decision. I personally wish the clock was up top again as well. In fact, I'd say 99% of people in the forums I've been checking hate the battery meter... Hopefully someone (Maybe even MS) can provide a way to go back to the way it was.

Uggh. Whose idea was this icon? It's not even functional, you can't really tell where you are in the battery cycle. The device really should have a battery indicator (for common folk who don't know about Today themes), but couldn't we have both a battery meter and a clock?

At least the new ROM is faster.

My understanding is that A2DP will be included in the next ROM update - AKU 2.2.

What's interesting is that my E-TEN M600 is using a UI-customised version of the Microsoft stack. It does not yet have AKU 2.x, but it includes A2DP/AVRCP. To my understanding, E-TEN extracted the profiles and added it into the current ROM. I'll have to do some investigating later.

It's a bit annoying how OEMs have direct control over which Bluetooth profiles to include and exclude. I can imagine thousands of i-mate users wanting to use their Bluetooth headphones with their K-JAM or JASJAR.

Thanks

FYI - I've just installed it on my JasJar. Push email works like a charm, posted some thoughts on my blog: http://headworx.blogspot.com/. Now in the waiting mode for A2DP...

OK so the excuse with Wizard was supposed lack of processing power of OMAP CPU, what is the excuse for Universal?
It can't possibly be slow CPU.
Also, since there are WM5 devices with A2DP, I can't except the buggy profile excuse either.

Hi all.

Can anyone provide a list of what's exactly changed in this latest 1.3 release of the Jasjar Rom?
Also what exactly does this boat loader mode do and is there any info on how it works etc?

Finally, when upgrading a device, how long does the upgrade process take?

Thanks in advance.
