Over the past 2.5 monthws various of you great PPC gurus have provided excellent help and advice on how to make a new iPAQ HX2495 w/ BT and WiFi work wirelessly with an equally new Toshiba M45-S269, also w/ BT and WiFi (Centrino).
WiFi on both devices worked tpogether seamlessly from day one. BT cost me about 32 manhours and $50.00 US additional, plus very much frustration and irritation.
Solution: Bought a Kensington-brand BT USB 2.0 dongle with Widdcomm software drivers on the enclosed disk. The secret was the Widcomm BT Stack whick overwrote the Intel/MS XPS2 drivers and solved the problem completely. The HP iPAQ always worked OK. The MS/Intel drivers sucked wind like a deep space vacuum and will forever be listed foremost in my Book of Everlasting Shame, Volume 1, Item 1.
Thanks to all hands for help and patience with my ravings and bitc--ings.
