The down button and the center button do not work (intermittantly) on my ipaq 4155. Is there a way to pop those off (and still being able to get it back on?)

No one has had this problem before? Does anyone know if there is a safe to pop those buttons off?

I have a 4155, but have not had the problem. You might try emailing PPCTechs that advertises on PPCThoughts. Sorry not of help.

Actually, I think this would apply to any ipaq...has anyone removed the buttons on there ipaq before (to clean out any debris that might be underneather it.)

Sounds like a bad idea to me. But I'm cautious with these things :)

Careful! I've opened a few PPC's. Not easy.

Problem is the buttons are attached to each other similar to this. You pry them off and they don't go back.

Opening a PPC means going in from the back....Lots of easy to damage ribbon cables for you to play with. 80 Buy a technical how to or an already useless 4150 to practice with...

if water dripped into the button area (i think it might have) would that cause the buttons to work intermittently? if not, and would it hurt it to clean it with alcohol?

Yes, Water could do that. Cleaning with alcohol may work only if you use pure alcohol, rubbing alcohol leaves residue. Better first investigate...some rubber components don't react well to alcohol much like my liver

If i don't take apart my pocket pc, does anyone have any suggestions for something to clean it with (something very, very thin that would have some sort of fabric on it that I could dip in alcohol.)
