Hi All, I just bought a Verizon XV6700, Windows Mobile 5. It's a beautiful thing but I'm getting extremely frustrated using Pocket IE. I can browse the web, clicking on links fine but am having trouble when clicking on buttons. For example, I use Yahoo email and when I click on the "download" button nothing happens. Similarly when I try and submit a support request to verizon, I click on the submit button and nothing happens. This is a very basic capability for most of today's websites.

I have searched the forums and the web in general but can't find mention of this. Have you seen it? Do you think this could be specific to my make of PPC phone?

Thanks for any help!

This is a well-known problem with PIE/IEM (see for example this article (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=318&more=1), along with the links inside - I've written quite a few articles on the secrets of accessing Yahoo Mail on Pocket PC's.) Use a more JavaScript-compliant Web browser (NetFront, Minimo, Opera) OR, as far as Yahoo Mail is concerned, use the PDA interface at http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw?dp=mail

Jamie, I highly recommend you Netfront browser. It has all the features you expect from a Pocket IE. It also supports Java

Give it a try

I tried the Opera Browser preview and liked a lot of what I saw. If you decide to try it make sure not to set it as your default in case you decide to remove it. It is a pain to reset IE as the primary browser.

Have you checked out the registry import file I've provided here (http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/RevertOperaAssignments.reg)? It's meant for reverting all the changes back to IE.
