Guys, I am looking to get an internal SD to CF adaptor, as I want to get a high capacity SD card and still be able to use it in my camera which only takes CF cards. I am aware of the Minolta SD-CF1 Compact Flash Adapter (http://froogle.google.com/froogle_cluster?q=minolta+sd-cf1&pid=4885492051862100518&oid=11086099891374918075&btnG=Search+Froogle&lmode=&addr=&scoring=mrd&hl=en), but US$52 seems rather a high price for this. (Plus I can't find on in the UK for sale). Are there any current and cheaper versions on internal SD to CF adaptors available that you could recommend? Cheers.

I have never dealt with these vendors, so buyer beware.

For self contained (I think), try these:

For semi-external, try the Archos:

The second link contains this worrying line : "Actual Adapter may appear different in appearance, due to various suppliers, but will be identical in function". It also does not say that it is a totally internal device.

The PNY technologies one looks better, but seems to be out of stock most places (or stock is not listed) and is also not mentioned on the PNY website. I'm wondering if it has been discontinued.

No problem. Next step is to probably call them, if possible, and ask.

Don't know if you can still find it, but here's a review of one for $25

Not sure if you can use the Type II or not. Panasonic also makes (or made) an adapter, but I'm having trouble finding whether it is Type I or II and a familiar place that sells it.
http://www2.panasonic.com.sg/panasonic/storefront/static/ecam/html/acce_datatrans1.html

even so, the one place I found it, http://shop.brando.com.hk/panasonicsdcfadapter.php, it costs $55.

Gee, looks like you hit all the threads dealing with this. I bet, if you can find it, the Type I's are going to be around the $50-$55 (USD) and you might find the Type II cheaper.

That link does not work for me. I could get it from Google either.

OK, so far there are:

Minolta SD-CF1
Panasonic BN-SDCF1E
EagleTec ET-CFAII45

All of which do not seem to be sold anymore (or at least I can't find one in stock at a familiar place at a sensible price). Type II would be fine - at this rate I may have to import one from the US - if I can find one. I hit the old threads in case it jogged anyone's memories. I've spent a few hours already searching and trying to track one down.

Does anyone have one I could buy off them? :)

Great, that works. Before I order, has anyone used the store before? $3 shipping from Hong Kong to the UK seems rather too cheap.

I've ordered from the before and have not had any problems with them.

It's cheap because they use registered snail mail, rather than courier service. I've ordered from them quite often - mainly screen protectors (first class, you have to try them), but the occasional larger stuff. I've never had any problem with them whatsoever, and despite using ordinary mail, shipping has been pretty snappy - never more than a week.

It arrived. :) It works. :D

A nice bit of kit. There is an internal spring, so the SD card 'clicks' into place and pressing it again releases the card which is ejected out. I tried it with a 16Mb and a 245Mb SD card - no problems. Now to get a nice 2Gb SD card. 8)

Thanks for your help guys. I would certainly use the Hong Kong store again.
