Lately my Jasjar has been going through the battery very quickly, and I'm not sure why. I haven't added any new software - in fact I have only four programs installed on it. I decided it might be time for a hard reset, but I wasn't sure how to hard reset this unit. I tried holding the power button down and doing a soft reset, which works on many other units, but that didn't work. So I typed <a href="http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=hard+reset+jasjar&FORM=QBRE">hard reset jasjar</a> into MSN Search, and guess what came up as the #2 hit? The <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=377325">Hard Reset FAQ thread</a> right here in the Pocket PC Thoughts forums. Now that's what I call having a helpful community! :D A big thanks to all of you who provide help and knowledge to your fellow community members - keep up the great work!<br /><br />[As an aside for those of you interested in search engines, I was surprised to see that MSN Search nailed my question, while the <a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=hard+reset+jasjar">same search on Google</a> didn't have the Pocket PC Thoughts thread in the top 10, nor did it have a single hit that easily answered my question. A sign of things to come in the search engine world perhaps?]

Hi Jason, I have (well in fact I had, because it works no more) an KJam, I had the same problem you are having, there is a program I do not remeber if it is on Contol Panel, settings, or somewhere around called clear memory or something like that (sorry for not being very specific but my device is not working anymore). Run this app and will let you hard reset your device. Saludos desde México!!

Thanks for the nice news. I also want the pocketpcthoughts.com to be the top site in the gadget world.

Me and my friends always spend like 2+ hours each days to help people on this site. This is the site which I most frequently visit and I have also set it as my homepage too :D

[... the same search on Google didn't ... have a single hit that easily answered my question. ]
You probably didn't intend this to be a "my favorite search engine is ..." thread, but I have been consistently disappointed with the usefulness of Google results. I've never understood the appeal; maybe it's more not having 10 advertisements flashing in your face than the value of the actual results. Actually I use a meta-search site.

When I Google search 'hard reset jasjar', the second result is from PocketPC Dubai, which has the
same solution (http://pocketpcdubai.com/i-mate_PPC/jasjar/reviewp5.html), along with a suggestion to try the "clear storage" menu option instead.

Indeed. When I was scanning the Google results though, that wasn't readily apparent. I wasn't about to read through 100% of the text from every result just to find my solution... ;-)

Just curious, what are the four programs?

Just curious, what are the four programs?

Right now (it varies) it's:

FlexWallet 2006
SOTI Pocket Controller
ZoneCalc (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/discounts.php?action=expand,43090)
Skype (technically, I left it installed, I didn't install it)

And that's it. I run lean and mean. ;-)

Edit...Find (on this Page) would've worked, though.

This information is also available from Club iMate FAQ, which you should join as you have a JasJar. I find it annoying, though, that you need to register a device to access the FAQ - the info is nothing special and you would've thought iMate would make it available to people considering the device. Also, as a JasJar owner I cana ccess the JasJAr FAQ but not the KJam FAQ - why??
