hx2490 + h5500 components

If I buy a hx2490 will my extra power cables and car charger from my h5500 work with it?

With the exception of some of the older iPAQs (i.e. h3100/3600/3700 series) and the h1900 which has a reversed connector, all others (including your h5500 and hx2490) should have universal pin configurations making your extra accessories compatible.

Both the hx24xx series and h5xxx series use same universal connector(not the palm's one :wink: ). Therefore, you should be able to use any of the accessories(with some exceptions) of h5xxx series with hx24xx :)

It should work fine. Most power accessories are universally adaptable.

Yes it should work. My friend borrowed my iPAQ 2215 charger to charge his iPAQ 6315 and it worked well. Therefore, almost all power accessories should work.

But, I would still recommend you to try them in the store before buying them
