Ok, so what didja get? Doesn't even have to be Pocket PC related, or {gasp} technology related. {shudder} :wink: Of course, I know not everyone celebrates Christmas, so share the festivities and gifts (mostly gifts!!!) you enjoyed on your particular holiday. :) <br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/hansberry/2003/20031225-santa.gif" />

(even though I'm on vacation I figure it's ok for me to post in this thread)

- Millenium season three DVD boxed set
- Battlestar Gallactica DVD boxed set
- Tour of Duty season three DVD boxed set
- The Crow on DVD
- The Tick live-action TV show, all seven episodes
- 16 new CDs (trimmed down my wishlist by a lot!)
- a few books
- a few comic books
- couple of shirts
- scented candles (yes, I like soothing scents for my stressful office)

Like many of you, I'm hard to buy for, and no one dares buy me electronics because they never know what I want, or what I want is really expensive.

* Conair beard/mustache trimmer
* Homedics programmable percussion massager
* 2006 Calendar
* Aviator DVD
* Container of snacks for work
* Lots of stocking stuff, including more snacks for work, Starbucks coffee, and socks

Santa brought my oldest daughter a Canon IP6600D photo printer, which I will be using extensively.

BTW, 2 items on my wish list were received early in December...
* 1GB Sandisk Ultra II CF card
* Haicom HI-303III CF GPS receiver

I loved that show... :)

I also got a Batman hat, t-shirt, jacket, pillow case, and a small pillow. Oddly enough none of those people had planned it. lol I do like batman though. hehe.

What did I get from family.... three DVD's (Bourne Supremacy, Day After Tomorrow, Kill Bill 2)

What I got for Me: Several DVD's, Battlefield 2 expansion pack (game), Samsung external DVD burner.

What's still coming: another watch; got my eye on a beautiful Citizen Eco-Drive chrono! (I'm a watch collector) It's not available yet at my favorite jeweller, so I'm getting it in a week or two.

Not much compared to some of what I've seen here, but then again... I buy cool stuff for myself all the time. :D Already have the PSP, DS, Ipod Nano etc.

My youngest son's face when he opened the Playmobile set he's been praying for for months.

Having my eldest son ( 8 ) fall asleep on me during midnight mass.

Building lego Star Wars ships with both my sons

Watching my 20 month old daughter bouncing around in a Tigger suit.

Swearing my youngest son will never drive a car of mine having watched him take out every tree and fence round the circuit on his new PC rally driving game.

Oh, I got a 1Gb SD card and card reader too :)

From others:
- Walking Shoes
- Cologne (Lacoste)

Myself... heh complicated
I have been a pda owner since 1999, the list (lifted from my blog):
* Casio PV-100
* Casio PVS-400
* Palm M105
* HP iPAQ 3800
* HP iPAQ 3900
* HP iPAQ 5000
* HP iPAQ 5555
* HP iPAQ hx4705

Well, this year I gave up. Following a hard semester in college I spent time reorganising my thoughts, plans, strategies. I realized it was more of a distraction,
After selling the hx, I started clean with a Franklin Covey Leather Binder (http://shopping.franklincovey.com/shopping/catalog/productbinder.jsp?navAction=push&navCount=2&id=prod720022) and 7habits daily pages (http://shopping.franklincovey.com/shopping/catalog/productpaper.jsp?filterSize=Pocket&navAction=push&navCount=1&id=prod420035)

To this day, nothing beats pen and paper. The pda is a wonderful tool for retrieving info but still not up to par w/ paper. So I put my money where my mouth (and mind) was and 80$ later I'm now PDA-sober...

My wife made me a treasure hunt of clues that I would follow around the house to locate gifts. She stayed up until 3:30 am Christmas Eve to create it. That was my best gift. Beyond that...

A humor book
A Mindstorms Suma Robot design book
A plaque from Despair.com (really funny!!)
Some clothing articles

I also ordered a new Sena case for my PPC6700.

On the PPC side, I gave her a Bluetooth game controller for her iPaq 4150, which we haven't had time to try out. She loves playing games on her PDA.

Another wonderful gift was my white kitten, Melissa, settled down and let me hold her in my arms for the first time. You definitely feel peace with a small purring kitten in your arms!

First off...

I got my first travel-free Christmas in 14 years.

Toys:

30GB iPod Video
XBOX 360 - which I returned...to the Shock and excitement of the kid who followed me into the COSTCO store. I'm an XBOX fanatic to be sure...but I want to wait for a 2nd Generation one.

I'll be using the money for a new stainless steel prop for the boat!

Oh...and after a very brief reprieve from work, PDA's are once again banned as of 1/1/06. So its back to the Franklin.

JPD6825
12-27-2005, 05:44 AM
XBOX 360 (I got it myself, but it appeared under the tree as 'From Beth')
Tiger Woods PGA Tour '06 (XBOX 360)
An LED flashlight with hand-crank
clothes
a motorized CD/DVD cleaner

got my butt kicked by my kids at Golf and DOA3 on the 360 already.

I got Sandisk MP3 players for all 3 kids and wife - the 3 for kids are 1 GB models - a steal on Black Friday
I also gave my wife a Sharper Image InfoGlobe Caller ID unit -- just for the huge blue LED 'Message Waiting' --- since the switch to digital phone and voice mail a few months ago -- we missed the good old Messages LED on the answering machine.

Got my oldest son the SpinBlade RC helicopter from Radio Shack -- way high on the cool scale, but very fragile. Already down pretty hard until we can improvise a repair to a rotor hub...

Spent a great day with my family!

Hope you all had a joyous Christmas!

I had a very nice Christmas with family.

I heard someone say that there would be a real shift in our hearts and mindsets and the hearts and mindsets of our children if we started to teach ourselves and our children to begin asking, "What did you give for Christmas?" instead of always asking, "What did you get for Christmas?"

I can see the wisdom in that. Although gifts are wonderful to receive, it isnt what the focus of Christmas is about.

So with that, I'll say that Christmas was great, and that I recognize that I'm blessed, and that what I gave to those who are dear to me, was my love, attention, and respect, more opportunity for them to laugh until their sides hurt, and yes, a few gifts. :)

Ok, well, I guess that's understandable. I work somewhere where I hope I don't get transferred to a building that would require me to give up my cell phone (which does have a camera).

---

I received an iTrek M3 bluetooth GPS to use with my iPAQ 5555 (yes, still using WM2003!). I even bought a 1GB SD card and a new lithium ion battery for the 5555 as it appears I'm stuck with this pocketpc for a while yet (buts its a decent device). The GPS works extremely well. I'm used to a Garmin eTrex that would not track indoors. The iTrek M3 aquired a fix quickly in my dad's basement, two floors down! It has also worked in stores (tried in KMart and Walmart). Of course, I plan to use it outdoors and in my car primarily.
