I sold my hx4705 on EBay because I'm out of work and out of money. Then withdrawal set in....so back to EBay I go. Unfortunately, the only 'good' deals on used PDAs are Palm-based units. I want a Pocket PC, but the only affordable ones are used old Ipaqs. No fair!

Ouch, that sucks man. Keep saving up for a Pocket PC, don't settle for a Palm! ;-)

Since I usually only use a PDA for addresses and phone numbers, I can 'probably' live with a used Palm (Tungsten E $61).

The shame is that I know there are PPC Thoughts readers that have PDAs sitting in the drawer that they never use!

Different boat, same lake. My PDA broke, but I'm thinking of fixing it for my Christmas present! :) I'd thought about getting a 4705 at one time. If you had the cash now, is that what you'd get?

I'm not sure. I never really liked the look of the 4705 and the touchpad is pretty useless...even when you get 'used to it.' I would probably go for one of their newer models like the 2750. Wifi, bluetooth and finger scanner.

My 2 leading candidates, when I can purchase a "new" one, or at least new to me, are the 4705 or one of the Dells (x50v or x51v). Perhaps, when I get saved up, it will be the x52v ;) I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on the 4705...sounds like the touch pad is either a love it or hate it deal...not a lot in the middle.

Hmmm...that's interesting. Why would you prefer to get the 2750? I'm just curious since I'm currently using the 2750 and I'm planning to upgrade to the 4700.

Sorry, I dpn't see that as an upgrade. A VGA screen doesn't make it a better pda.

Depends what you want and what you're using it for. But IMO there are better VGA PPCs out there then the 4700.
