I got an earlier version of this produce free with the points provided with my hx4700. Which is why I paid for DVD Catalyst (PocketDVD as was).

On the plus side with DVD to Pocket PC, you get settings specific for your machine and it's pretty easy to set up the desired ripping process.

On the down side, I had major problems with getting both sound and video encoded at the same time - I lost count of the number of times I lost sound and had to repeat the rip, and that was even after doing a test of the settings to make sure they worked. And it was slow.

DVD Catalyst has the ease of use with pre-configured settings for specific encoders and resolutions as well as the flexibility to allow you to tweak the whole lot by hand. The author(s) even added a specific configuration for the recently released Nokia 770, based on the configuration requested by a user on their support forums.

I upgraded to 3.0. Doesn't work on 2 different computers, with several diff. DVD's. I contacted Makayama and, even though it took them a while to get back to me, they seem to be interested in solving the issue(s). Version 3 seems to be really buggy. I had numerous problems on both systems, from corrupted video to program crashes, error messages, etc. I then downgraded to 2.5, and the first rip I attempted was considerably out of sync. I have given up for now, until I hear back from them. If I don't hear back soon, I'll request my money back.
