It's possible - go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_mobile.html to download the Pocket PC version 2 Reader for ARM-based processors. However, I will offer you this warning up front - Reader is a memory hog, and I had problems opening up PDF files over two or so megs in size - and the fact my memory went from 12MB free to about 1MB with a two-meg file drove me off the 1950 platform entirely. If you're talking small 500KB or less PDFs, however, you're golden. Just don't run anything else at the same time, and disable all other services if you can - no wireless, etc. :D

You zoom in the same way you do with the desktop version of Reader - look for the magnifying glasses at the bottom of the screen with the + and - signs in them to zoom in. I'd also suggest reading in Landscape mode, since otherwise you'll find Acrobat REALLY shrinks the text. One other hint - turn off the multi-page preview (click on the bar seperating that from the page proper) and that'll increase the size of the screen just a bit.

For free stuff try pocketpcfreewares:

For commercial applications, try Handango (http://www.handango.com) or Pocketgear (http://www.pocketgear.com)

Be aware though, that a lot of software is/will not be compatible with WM5.0 - your mileage will vary a lot. Basically anything not updated or written before Summer 2005 will most likely not be fully compatible.

There's a zoom in ("+" sign) and zoom out ("-" sign) button in the PPC Acrobat application. If it's not there, you can get them by customising the toolbar.
