As Windows Mobile 5 completely changed the way contact, task and calendar data was stored, we were initially concerned about performance. We redesigned the core of Agenda Fusion to take full advantage of the new Windows Mobile 5 data storage and delivered great performance to make this a very exciting release! A lot of work went in to optimizing Agenda Fusion for Windows Mobile 5, and the efforts have paid off. We would also like to thank the beta testers who helped us make this one of the most solid releases of Agenda Fusion ever."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20051204-AF750.jpg" /><br /><br />After an update hiatus, Agenda Fusion 7.50 for Windows Mobile 5.0 has been released. It includes full support for the new OS, and an enhanced contacts view, tasks view and projects view. If you already own Agenda Fusion 7.x, then this should be a free update. Otherwise, <a href="http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=79456&productType=2">Handango</a> is selling it for $29.95. Pocket PC 2002 and Windows Mobile 2003/2003SE users can expect a v7.50 update to be released this week. [Affiliate]

I seem to be a little confused. If it fully supports the new OS, then why aren't the two soft keys present at the bottom of the screen?

Developers have the option of supporting the soft keys or using the old-style toolbar. There are still quite a few applications which use the latter, primarily because they have too many program options to stick with a two menu layout.

Why not use PocketInformant. It is WM5 compatible and it supports the soft keys.

Unless you are using a keyboard centric device, the toolbar is probably more efficient. Using the softkeys often requires several more taps than having all the various options displayed on the bar. If you have a keyboard, the softkeys work well since you probably don't want to stop to pull the stylus just to click a button.

PI has decided to support soft keys, AF hasn't. I don't think either one is "wrong" in their decision. Just one more thing that differentiates the two programs.

I have to admit to being surprised that Developer One is so late to the game in releasing a WM5.0 version though.

Why don't they just offer the option to use soft buttons or menu/tool bar that is user selectable?!

This stupid soft button cr@p (fine for smartphone, BAD for a PPC) is one of the many things that will keep me as far as posible from WiMp5!!

Wait until you get a decent Pocket PC that was designed specifically to take advantage of WM5's features. It'll likely have all the buttons that any given Pocket PC has today, plus two for dedicated softkey use. You'll probably be singing a different song then.
