Try Mortplayer. I used most of the free ones and even paid for a few, I didnt like any of them and most of them became testers for the nasty 2003 wake up bug that stops alarms from working. In other words, they only woke up sometimes.

This one is free and actualy works best of them all.

The beta seems quite stable

I use it to go to sleep and wake up to shoutcast via wifi with different volumes.

Its user interface is a bit hostile and strange but you get used to it.

BTW, I have the Mortplayer wake up wait set to 20 seconds so that wifi can connect before play starts plus I use BurrOaks free wakeup tweak set to 60 seconds http://www.burroak.on.ca/ptafaq.html

I actually have Mortplayer - never thought of using it as an alarm though! Nice catch 6ftunder, and welcome to the forum!
