Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 communication and collaboration server with Service Pack 2 (SP2), and Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) deliver an integrated, scalable, security-enhanced and cost-effective enterprise mobile messaging solution."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/wey-20051126-MSFP.jpg" /><br /><br />Microsoft has just released a white paper detailing the benefits of a joint Exchange Server 2003 SP2 and Windows Mobile 5.0 solution with the focus on maximising mobility for businesses. Of course, this is also a solution that is dependent on the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP), which annoyingly, will only be made available through OEMs and operators from early Q1 2006, not directly through Microsoft. And if past experience is anything to go by... :|

Like Voice Command, this "feature" of WM5 was hyped up by Microsoft and it's minions but it turns out not to be a done deal! I hope next time they do a better job of communicating what is optional and what is standard instead of building up people's expectations and later they find out they may not benefit from this new os "feature". A lot of build up preceded this release and mostly disappointed followed it with poor implementation and "qualifications" on it's supposed benefits.

This release has so far been some what of a joke! It has had the longest time between os release and the first devices and we are trying to identify what we will get from the "package". So far, it seems to be one big beta test!
