It was at 10:38 AM on October 12th five years ago that I made this post:

"Welcome to Pocket PC Thoughts! This site is driven by Blogger, a really innovative way of doing what's called a "web log". A web log is similar to a journal - thoughts, discoveries, new information. The goal of this particular web log is to serve as a focal point for all my thoughts on the Pocket PC. If I find a cool new program, you'll hear about it here. If I discover a workaround for a flaw in the Pocket PC OS, you'll read it here. When I write new articles or columns that I want to draw your attention to, I'll mention it here. When I find a news article that I think others should read, the link will be posted here. This will also serve as a collection point for things that I can't put on PocketPC.com - things like registry hacks and my more, ah, aggressive opinions about certain things. My goal is to update this site at least once a day, sometimes more."

What a great five years it's been! From a hobby on a shared server, this site this has evolved into a full-time job for me running a network of three sites coming from two servers, and with a monthly reach of 1.8 million people. I started this site by myself, and now across the three sites there are 15 news editors, three moderators, 20+ review team members, and four people doing an assortment of design, development, team management, copyediting, and server help. From the bottom of my heart I'm deeply greatful to all those people who put effort into growing Pocket PC Thoughts, which includes all of you - your comments, stories, criticisms, reviews, questions, answers...everything that makes the Pocket PC Thoughts community one of the best there is!

For the rest of today and tomorrow I'm going to be doing some giveaways as I announced previously. I've only received five postcards, so it looks like the odds are looking good for all you subscribers. Thanks again for making this site a big success, and here's to the next five years - whatever they might bring. :D
