View Full Version : microSD to miniSD adapter?

I remember seeing a miniSD-to-SD (flush) adapter.

But I don't know if there's a microSD-to-miniSD adapter (though I presume there will be a microSD-to-SD adapter).

Can someone verify this? I'm thinking about standardizing on purchasing only microSD (was TransFlash) in the future -- or more specifically TrustedFlash-compliant microSD. But I'd like to know if I will be able to use it in cellphones/PDAs that take miniSD?

In fact, if anyone has any links to purchase any of these microSD/miniSD/SD adapters, I'd really appreciate it!

I'll probably wait awhile for microSD capacity to get bumped up though, since I'm currently using 2GB (66X-speed) SD cards and am used to that.

Sorry if this has been asked...

As far as I'm aware, these don't exist (yet), though I'd love to be proven wrong. microSD to SD adapters do exist though.

Thanks a lot Darius, I'd love for you to be proven wrong too (no, in a good way) :D

I'm banking my hope on the assumption that in terms of physical volume, it would be possible to make a microSD-to-miniSD adapter that fits flush inside the miniSD slot. And that it's just hard to find one (just like it took me awhile to find SD-to-CF adapters that fit flush in the CF slot).

Of course, someone will probably dash this hope by calculating that microSD-to-miniSD isn't physically possible...

But really, the move from SD to miniSD (in some devices) makes me think it will continue on to microSD eventually, and that I might as well standardize on microSD now (assuming microSD can have practical speeds/capacities).

But stacking adapters would be a pain (microSD->miniSD->SD->CF->PCMCIA)!

Don't worry your hopes won't be dashed...

Great... if you're in europe, they don't appear to deliver outside of there.

If any one finds one in Australia, that'd be great!

Yeh,

I bought one of eBay about a month ago, and it works great.

No problems.

Ebay is the best way to go, I saw a lot when I was buying a miniSD.
