I LOVE my Axim x50v - especially the VGA and its VGA-out capability. I have a 7-inch VGA LCD screen I carry with me on trips and really enjoy web surfing or using Textmaker to get some writing done.

Does any one else besides Dell make a VGA-out capable Pocket PC? I know HP has the 4700 and there's a VGA model by Loox (?) - but can they display out to a monitor?

Thanks,

Frbl

PS - I wasn't sure where to post this. Sorry if this is not appropriate to this forum.

No, there's no other PPC on the market that can do VGA out the way the Axim can. If I may ask, why are you curious?

'Cause I'm thinking about getting a backup Pocket PC. I'll probably go with another x50v (or wait for the x51v???).

But being a gadget nut I was contemplating another brand just to try out a different experience (e.g., the HP4700's touchpad).

Wait a week, and your X50v will probably become the backup.

A second Pocket PC? WOW! 8O Well, I will wait to get x51v, x70, or x90.

Hmmm... the mystery... I admit I haven't been following things extremely closely - are you alluding to the imminent release of some new VGA Pocket PC? Possibly the x51v or some other beast?

Ahh, the excitement!

x51v might be released next week with WM 5 pre-installed and 256mb of ROM. Anyway, you find out more about the device here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=121

I'm VERY excited about dell's upcoming devices. It is rumored that x70 or x90 will include HD. One of them might also be a phone-edition device.

Dell has no plans for hard drive models, or phones, at least next year. Just FYI.
