The Apache certainly looks like a nice unit, but only time will tell when this hits CDMA carriers in North America.

This looks so much nicer than the HTC Wizard (ok, except the protruding antenna)

And it has "OK" and "Windows" keys, although I think they should be on the margin, while the twi soft keys belong next to the joystick!

Very nice piece of hardware (except for the antenna)
Worthless review. just a summonning of feautures.

When will this one be available in Europe...?

Yes, the external antenna sucks, but if it improves reception and/or allows a bigger battery, I'll take it. I also much prefer the button layout compared to the Wizard - The buttons should be clustered at the bottom (for games) rather than scattered all around the screen.

It won't be coming to Europe, since it's a CDMA unit.

They look raised, not recessed, to me. Of course, it's a perspective game until we get higher-res photos, but I'd be very surprised if they're recessed. ;)

They've GOT to be raised. I can't imagine they would do recessed, it's just that the picture makes it look like they are.

I'm sure we would have heard that tidbit if it was so.

Anyway, I'm actually leaning more toward the Wizard than the Apache. I like the cleaner look.

Based on the pictures I've seen, I'm pretty sure they're raised. I'd provide a URL, but unfortunately, they've been pulled from the site. :(

I've done some researching on it through several different web sites and seeing many photos of it. From what I have seen, this just may be THE ticket for all of my mobile communications/data needs. I'm a long time PDA/pocket PC user, having had an HP Jornada 568 for a few years now (still consider it to be one of the finest PPCs ever to exist). I'm now stepping into the foray of PPC phones for a lot of good reasons. I recently got a chance to play with a Verizon Samsung i730 and fell in love with it. This is particularly true of the fact that it's nice and loud and works well with my ears and hearing aids (I'm hearing impaired). Sadly, it didn't have a camera. What a huge shortcoming that is!

Anyway, The Apache looks to be just what I need. Its size seems comparable to the i730. Of the two, I actually kind of like the i730's sliding keypad but perhaps the landscape orientation in a phone/PPC is so new to me.

I'm expecting a 6700 from Sprint when it comes out. Can't wait to give this puppy a try!

As for the pics...the buttons LOOK like they're raised. To recess them would be ridiculous. But to overly raise them is equally silly. They'll either be ever-so-slightly raised or they'll be flush, either of which is fine by me. The form factor and the design is quite nice. However, I'm not crazy about the all-silver. I've seen pics of the black-and-silver and that looks quite nice!

I just pray to God that this device is compatible with my ears!
