I'm trying to find a piece of software for PPC that will allow me to run programs at specific times - for example, I'd like my PPC to turn on at 6am on weekdays and play an internet radio station.

I have found no end of alarm clocks, but none that allow me to select a URL or program instead of a sound file. Does anyone know of such an application?

Cheers.

No, but that would be great! I'd love it if my PPC would wake up every morning and turn "flight mode" off. i turn it on at night so I am not woken by phone calls, SMS messages or email notifications.

First of all the source code (http://page.freett.com/todamitsu/file/ac004src.zip) for the Alarm Clock program (http://page.freett.com/todamitsu/AlarmClockE.htm) is available for download. You could use this as a start and add the features that you want.

Second, there is the WakeApp utility (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=900) that supports two types of EVENTS:
a Timer tab: allowing you to run an application at a set time.
an Event tab: rather than a set time, it allows an event to fire off an application

Actually your post reminded me of a utility I had on my old Sony P800 called miniGPS - it might do what you want. It's mostly useful for triggering events (change profile, send SMS, etc.) based on your location (determined from your current cell) but I think they may have added timed events. Doesn't fit my needs but it may do yours. I just looked and they have a Windows Mobile version, may be worth checking out...

wth dude, YOU asked for such a software and noone else
and yes, wakeapp is indeed great, infact it's the only one of its kind.
i'm quite sure there is no other software which allows you to manually set notifications, just plain system notifications without any running background software.

thank you rhmorrison.

(don't beat me for digging this thread out :D)

Actually if you look at the post before rhmorisson's, Ed said he'd like a piece of software that would allow him to turn off flight mode, change profiles, etc. That was why I mentioned MiniGPS. I won't bother to try to help in future.

help is always good but correct form of reply is more important.
take no offense, i couldn't see you were replying to ed.
help whenever/wherever you can.

(and a word from you about wakeapp would be nice, too.)
