how to install spb products without pc (cab)?

hi guys!

i am on a 5 month trip in N.america and i only encounter macs all the time :) i want to upgrade my spb products, yet i cant seem to find a cab file for any of their products, only exe files. since i only have accsses to macs all the time how can i install the spb .Exe files on my ppc? i can use cab files but cant seem to find it. thx alot in advance

I'd make a web query to their customer support team (http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/support/question.html?en) and see what they could do for you. I don't think there is a PPC program for extracting .cab files from .exe files yet but I could be wrong. Surely there must be a program to extract .cab files with Mac computers???

WinRAR (http://www.rarlabs.com/download.htm) or any of the other items from RAR Labs can usually extract cab files from exes, but I tried it yesterday with several Spb products, and it didn't work. Usually, the exe will just contain an installer, ini file(s), and the cab, but Spb exes contain a secondary exe, and that exe contains several unreadable files. So yeah, not so easy. I too would contact Spb support about it. Hopefully they'll help.

And perhaps Jason Dunn would know, since he used to work for Spb? I know a lot of things have changed, but maybe their file structure has stayed the same.

You can extract them through the nasty combination of VirtualPC (windows emulator) and As but apparently this is such a fraught and risky combination....as a guest you might earn yourself a reputation as the guy that messed my/their computer/s
