View Full Version : Unable to Sync with Bluetooth

I keep getting the unhelpful error that the service is not enabled on this device. Both devices 'see' each other. I know the bluetooth works since it works with my phone. It just doesn't want to sync.

So far, it seems cables are better. Will WM5 improve this?

If I take out my bluetooth adapter from its usb port I always have trouble.

The one thing I have found is that apparently activestink will only recognize bluetooth adapters that use ports 1 to 9.

Make sure activestink is set to the port that the adapter is set to and that passthrough is set to work and it seems to work. I am using it now.

Hope you get it working, it is worth it.

My bluetooth adapter is built-in. The PDA and PC show that they are connected, but activesync will not work. The PDA says a service is not enabled on it.

Sorry mate,

I have never dealt with a built in version, although I would think it would still use ports.

I did change my usb bluetooth as I gave the missus the one I am using and bought a new one which had its own software. With that adapter I could get the devices paired but like you could not access activesync. In the end I uninstalled the software, put the old adapter back which uses the generic xp bluetooth and I could connect again. Never did find the reason as the newer adapter and software is fine on her laptop to connect the phone.

A quick search on these forums unearthed these links:
